7 Most Effective Ways To Relive Stress

Meditate on God’s Word

Meditation is one of the most soothing exercises you can do.  However, sitting in a weird pose for hours on end and humming.  That is not really, I would call relaxing.  And really who I want to know who can sit for 30 minutes and not be able to think about anything.  I know I can’t. Which is why I choose to meditate on God’s word.  Not really praying.  Thinking about God’s word and how I can use in my everyday life.  Some of my favorites are “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.” ~John 14:27.   And really my truly favorite “Don’t be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7 And of course “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken” ~Psalm 55:22

Take these are other verse that you love and just sit with them and think on them.  With the help of the Lord, this helps you in relieving stress.  You can let the word wash over and feel the stress low out of your body

Reading

There have been studies that show even reading as little as 6 short minutes can reduce your stress level by 75%.  Read your Bible, ok so you knew I was going to go there, but yes reading your Bible for pleasure is a great way to reduce stress. But you can also read light-hearted books too.  I love a good Hallmark movie, but reading is a much better choice when it comes to wanting to get rid of stress.  I love reading the Series Anne of Green Gables and Twilight Series they both help me reduce my stress

Christian Stretching

Exercising is one of the best things you can do to reduce stress.  There have been studies upon studies done that prove how good working out is for you.  And doing Yoga or as I like to call it Christian Stretching, it not only helps your body stay in shape, but it allows you to meditate on God’s word and help you breathe deeply.  So, you are doing three things to help with your stress.  Feeling better yet

Lavender

The smell of lavender is so good for so many things, one of those things is stress, you can use a plant in your kitchen or you can use a defuse with lavender oil it, to have the aroma flow the stress away in your home.

Journaling

Keeping a journal of all your thoughts and concerns is great to just let it all go.  Writing a letter a person who is causing you to stress or just writing out your thoughts about the things going on in your life really helps. Doing a “brain dump” is a great thing to do in the morning so you can all the things out of your mind.

Classical Music

Listening to any music is a good thing for stress relief…. And dancing to some great 80’s music can chase those stressors right out the door…. So whatever you want to listen to get your bootie moving is great.  This helps with kids too.

Talking to someone

Talking to your best friend, talking to your husband, or talking to a coach can really help get out the stress of your life.  Be careful that you are not just gossiping but really talking and seeking solutions about the stress in your life.

 

If you are feeling any stress to try these simple things to relieve stress.  Letting go of stress in your life doesn’t have to be hard or stressful, you just have to allow yourself to fall into a state of flow.
